Financial Controller | Fashion & Media | Hybrid | East London
Join a rapidly growing company as their first internal finance hire, working closely with the founders to build the finance function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape processes, drive financial strategy, and support the business as it scales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish the finance function and align it with business goals.
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance with payment agreements.
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate budget variances.
- Oversee budget preparation, VAT returns, and bank reconciliations.
- Own year-end accounting processes and payroll.
- Collaborate with all departments to drive informed financial decisions.
- Manage cash flow, treasury, and maximise payment terms.
- Control business systems and provide actionable insights.
Qualifications:
- Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
- Experience in start-ups (not essential)
- ERP system experience
- Flexible and hands-on approach
- Experienced working in a start-up environment
