SRM are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing Property Development and Investment Management Company, with a strong mixed portfolio.

As they expand, they are seeking a Financial Controller with solid property experience to join the team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to not only utilise your existing skills but also to grow and make a significant impact in our strategic financial management.

As a Financial Controller, you will work closely with the CFO and manage their financial operations across various projects and funds. This position is pivotal in shaping their financial strategies and ensuring that the financial practices support the company’s growth trajectory.

Key responsibilities are split between Projects, Fund and Group Strategic Finance matters including:

Financial Reporting

  • Own the financial reporting process for all SPVs/projects, including monthly, quarterly, and annual P&Ls, balance sheets.
  • Manage fund reporting with external administrators, accountants including quarterly management accounts, year-end accounts, investor update, and annual audits.
  • Work with external accountancy firms to ensure invoices/accounts are recorded, prepared accurately and in a timely manner.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with debt financial covenants for projects.
  • Fulfill various regulatory and statutory reporting requirements with respect to Funds and project companies.
  • Manage Investors KYC process.

Cost controls

  • Manage & process invoices, payments.
  • Review and challenge costs, invoices where necessary, ensure that costs are in line with budget.

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Develop and maintain accurate budgets and cash flow forecasts for all projects and group companies.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support investment decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives that strengthen finance operations and funding activities.

Tax Management

  • Work with tax advisors to optimise and handle various tax matters at project, company, and fund levels.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience in real estate fund and project accounting.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in accounting software (Xero, Sage) and Excel.
  • Stakeholder management .
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
