Reed are collaborating with a hugely successful Montessori accredited school and nursery who are on the lookout for a Financial Controller to assist the Managing Director and existing bookkeeping team with all aspects of financial and management accounts information for the group of nursery companies. This position is perfect for a proactive individual who thrives under pressure in a dynamic office setting and seeks exciting challenges within a growing company.
Responsibilities:- Maintain the Nominal Ledger and prepare management accounts along with various forecasts.
- Process monthly payrolls and generate reports for Directors and senior team members.
- Oversee all month-end management account processes and proactively manage accounts receivable.
- Liaise with nursery management teams regarding bookings and cost management.
- Handle payroll and pensions administration.
- Maintain the fixed assets register.
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Director to implement new processes as per the Directors' requests.
- 5-10 years’ experience in a similar Finacial Controller or Management Accounting role.
- Experience in the nursery sector preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software and excellent Excel skills.
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, AAT qualified ideal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach.
- Experience working in an SME environment and ability to adjust to new ways of working.
