Currently seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a fast-paced and dynamic advertising agency, known for delivering innovative and creative solutions to their clients. This business is passionate about creativity with a focus on results, priding themselves on being a leader in the industry.

6 month contract / start mid May or earlier / £450-550 a day umbrella depending on experience

For this position, experience in the advertising or creative agency sector is essential. They will oversee all aspects of financial management for the agency and play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, driving financial performance, and supporting the agency's leadership team in strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with industry standards and company policies.

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and identifying areas for cost optimisation.

  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate working capital and mitigate financial risks.

  • Ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to, including maintaining compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.

  • Work closely with the project management team to manage client billing, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely payment collection.

  • Provide insights into the profitability of client projects and agency operations, offering recommendations for improved financial performance.

  • Manage and mentor the finance team, promoting a collaborative approach with other departments such as creative, operations, and senior management.

  • Lead preparation for external audits and ensure compliance with all financial regulations and requirements.

  • Support leadership with various ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a creative agency or advertising environment.

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent accounting qualification

  • Experience with project-based accounting, client billing, and revenue recognition specific to an agency model.
