We are partnering with a prominent housing association to find a Fixed Asset Accountant for a permanent position. In this Fixed Asset Accountant role, you will:

  • Ensure the fixed-asset register is regularly reconciled, updated, and aligned with the ledger, covering tangible assets and investments.
  • Work closely with Analysts and Officers in the team, fostering a collaborative and insightful environment without active line management responsibilities.
  • develop controls and investigate challenges to streamline asset management processes.
  • Work alongside the asset management, development, IT, and communications teams to ensure financial accuracy and effective project completion.
  • Focus on depreciation, property valuations, grant amortisation, and year-to-date reporting to support both internal and external audits.
  • Provide insights into capital accounting and business partnering to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Prepare journals and ensure that all capital accounting activities, such as additions and disposals, are recorded accurately on a weekly basis.
  • Allocate time to review and enhance internal controls, ensuring alignment with audit requirements and regulatory frameworks.
