We are recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing, private equity-backed renewable energy company based in Central London. The company is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Group Financial Controller to lead its finance function and support the business through its next phase of growth.

Role Overview:

As the Group Financial Controller, you will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance and delivering high-quality financial reporting. You will work closely with the CFO and play a key role in supporting the company's expansion and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit Leadership: Lead the audit process and manage the relationship with external auditors.
  • Year-End Close: Ensure timely and accurate year-end closing, overseeing the entire process.
  • Statutory Reporting: Ensure all statutory reporting is completed in compliance with UK GAAP and other relevant regulations.
  • Team Management: Manage and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring effective delegation and oversight.
  • Consolidations & Financial Statements: Prepare and review consolidated financial statements across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with accounting standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide financial insights and updates to senior management and private equity investors and ad-hoc M&A activity/due diligence
  • FP&A: Helping set up an FP&A function

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA/ICAS/CAANZ or equivalent qualification is essential. Minimum 4-5yrs PQE.
  • Strong experience with group consolidations in a multi-entity environment.
  • Proven expertise in leading audits and statutory reporting.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed or fast-paced, growing business is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a senior role and provide strategic financial insight.
