The successful candidate will work closely with the Group Financial Controller, taking responsibility for providing accurate financial information, analysis and insights to support decision making. The ideal applicant will be a proactive and commercially astute individual, confident in supporting a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly management accounts for the Central Support Team’s cost centres, including processing all invoices, reconciling cash cards, and posting accruals and prepayments.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conducting variance analysis to compare actual performance against budget and forecast.
- Supporting the Group FC in preparing year-end financial statements for the Group.
- Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitoring performance against budget, identifying areas of concern, and supporting management in managing costs effectively.
- Advising on cost-saving initiatives and implementing financial controls.
- Monitoring cash flow to maintain liquidity and financial stability.
- Maintaining and enforcing internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory standards.
- Assisting with audits by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Collaborating with non-financial departments to support the ordering process and provide financial insights for decision-making.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost management.
- Advanced excel skills and proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- An inquisitive, self-starter who can work equally well within a team or autonomously
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbally
- High degree of self-awareness, able to proactively establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders alike.
