Interim Accountant - Housing & Regeneration (General Fund)
Location: London (Hybrid - 1 day per week on site)
Duration: 6 months (to support year-end close)
Rate: Daily Rate (Inside IR35)
A London Local Authority is seeking an Interim Accountant to provide specialist financial support within Housing & Regeneration, with a focus on General Fund activities, including homelessness services. The role has become available due to year-end pressures and will help see through the financial closedown.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting General Fund accounting, with a key focus on homelessness budgets
- Leading on reconciliation work and assisting with financial reporting for year-end
- Providing financial insight to support housing and regeneration projects
- Working closely with non-finance stakeholders to guide financial decision-making
- Ensuring compliance with local authority financial regulations
Requirements:
- Strong experience in local authority finance, particularly within Housing & Regeneration
- Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliation work
- Expertise in budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Ability to support the year-end process and financial closedown
Hybrid working - one day per week
