Robertson Bell is delighted to be working with a public sector organisation to recruit a team to work on an audit fee variation project. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project following the government's decision to implement statutory backstop dates for local government audits.
The position will be predominantly based from home and will be for an initial 3 month contract, however has the potential to be extended. The role will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct the first review of fee variation proposals submitted by audit suppliers, making recommendations for further action.
- Liaise with audit suppliers and local government clients to clarify, discuss, and resolve fee variation submissions.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records to support fee variation processes.
- Respond to fee-related queries from audited bodies and audit firms, escalating as required.
The public sector organisation is looking for are project team to help out due to an anticipated increased demand. They are looking for candidates with the following experience:
- Qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with a strong understanding of auditing practices.
- Have either worked within audit OR have worked on closedown of accounts with Local Government.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to engage constructively in discussions at all levels.
