Interim Group Accountant | Rapidly Scaling Creative Agency Group

Harmonic is delighted to be working exclusively with a rapidly scaling Creative Agency Group looking for an Interim Group Accountant to support their continued expansion. This role will likely sit Outside IR35.

The Client

With a current turnover of £10 million and plans to scale to £15-20 million this year, this fast-growing creative agency group is home to a talented team of 50 and expanding rapidly. Specialising in innovative marketing and creative services, they partner with top-tier clients to deliver award winning campaigns, events, and exhibitions.

Renowned for their dynamic and collaborative culture, they are seeking an experienced Group Accountant to support the CFO.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of the group, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and consolidate financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes alongside the Financial Controller.
  • Oversee the AR/AP function and manage group recharges and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making for the CFO.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaise with external accountants and tax advisors.
  • Prepare and review VAT returns across all agencies.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for business initiatives.
  • Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and best practices.

What we need to see (Essential)

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
  • Proven experience as a Group Accountant or similar role, ideally in an Agency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Day Rate: £350-£400 per day (Outside IR35)

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Hybrid (London-based, with flexible remote working options)

Contract Length: 6 months with potential to extend and transfer to permanent.
