Interim Internal Auditor

Robertson Bell are supporting a large public sector organisation, with offices across most major UK cities, to recruit an interim Financial Control and Assurance Manager on a 12 month contract. This will be a hybrid role but with minimal office travel, likely to average out at one day per week. 

The Financial Control and Assurance Manager will be responsible for; 

• Mapping and documenting the organisations financial control and assurance frameworks.
• Providing training to stakeholders on financial control and assurance frameworks, as required. 
• Reviewing new business cases to assess risk and provide assurance, while also ensuring compliance with organisational processes. 
• Acting as the second line of defence on control and assurance matters. 
• Supporting the business and external auditors with queries. 

The successful candidate will;

• Have a background in financial controls and assurance, either from industry or working as an auditor. 
• Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with, and challenge, stakeholders. 
• Be comfortable present and training small groups virtually, but potentially in person too.
