Handle are currently working with a fantastic media production charity, who are looking for an Interim Year-End Accountant. The successful candidate will work very closely with the Financial Controller and outsourced accounting services to run the whole finance function.
This a great opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to take on a really broad role and gain some valuable industry experience. Due to the role's nature, my client would love someone who has previously worked within media or charities (whether it be clients in practice or industry)
Key responsibilities include -
- Prepare monthly financial accounts, including in-depth variance analysis, exception reports, and KPIs based on data from the outsourced accounting team.
- Calculate and record the monthly income journal in accordance with revenue recognition policies, while maintaining the production portfolio report.
- Record accruals and prepayment journals for overhead costs.
- Prepare rolling forecasts for both Profit & Loss and Cash Flow statements.
- Review and reconcile Balance Sheet control accounts.
- Assist in preparing the Statutory Accounts pack
- Support with queries from auditors.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure complete reconciliation of cost monitors with Xero.
- Manage month-end close process and period-end closure in Xero
Candidate requirements -
- Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA or international equivalent
- Experience in the media sector, preferably television or charity
- Proven expertise in preparing Management Accounts and Consolidated Statutory Accounts
- Have the ability to work in a hands-on, fast paced environment
- Experience with Xero would be highly advantageous
