JOB PURPOSE

Supporting the IAD Department to achieve the Mission of Internal Audit which is to add value and improve the Banks operations by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice and insight.

To provide support to the Head of Internal Audit in overseeing the Department and day-to-day operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To manage individual internal audits as planned.

To conduct Risk Assessment annually and prepare the annual Audit Plan.

To perform off-site monitoring of the Branch and raise issues to Management when they arise.

To cooperate with and advise HOIAD auditors during their on-site audit at the Branch when requested.

To participate in periodical meetings with HOIAD and attend Overseas Branch Internal Auditors Meeting.

To monitor the progress in corrective actions taken by the Branch management and produce Audit Findings Tracking Reports.

To review Departments Procedure Manual and Desktop Manual and ensure update as and when necessary but at least annually.

To assess the adherence of the Branch to, and the effectiveness of, internal systems and controls, procedures and policies.

To keep apprised of guidelines, standards and good practices with respect to internal audit, risk management and internal control and other related areas by referring to outside sources for example external regulators handbook and new regulatory requirements.

To perform J-SOX-related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Asuitable professional qualification such as the ACCA, CPA, MIIA, CIA or, PIIA (with examinations) is preferred, but not essential.

Substantial knowledge of internal audit practices in UK.

A minimum of 3 years internal audit experience is desirable, but not essential.

Substantial knowledge of regulations applicable to UK banks is desirable, but not essential.
