Role summary:

The role reports to the Head of Finance alongside a small team and involves close liaison with the FP&A Manager. This role is a key member of the Finance Team, responsible for assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation .

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast paced, hands-on role with an ambitious and flexible attitude to grow as the Company develops. This role will suit a fully qualified accountant with 1-2 years post qualification experience in industry, working at a similar level within a medium-sized organization taking responsibility for accounting records. A high level of competence with Xero is not mandatory but would be advantageous. With a lean organisation structure, the role requires strong communication and team playing skills as well as a keen eye for detail, data analysis skills, eagerness to learn and ability to self-review.

Key responsibilities and main tasks:

  • Be part of a small accounts team
  • Maintain integrity of the accounting records
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes
  • Reconcile and analyse balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare month-end journals
  • Raise revenue invoices, maintain revenue register/records
  • Prepare monthly payroll journals and pension deductions, deal with associated reports and queries; liaise with the HR department as appropriate
  • Prepare files for annual audit and respond to audit queries
  • Review the payment runs prior to release by senior management
  • Processing of expenses (via Expensify) and company credit cards (via Pleo), implement changes to the authorisation process as required in both systems
  • Maintain Fixed Asset register and reconcile to general ledger
  • Maintain monthly PSA reports and prepare the annual PSA calculation for submission to HMRC
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly VAT returns and deal with VAT related matters; knowledge of group vat requirements is essential
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • Ad-hoc finance administration e.g. KYC requests, tax forms

Working in a small accounts team. ACCA or ACA fully qualified with a minimum of 2-3 PQ experience. Looking for ambitous person who wants to grow in a fast moving environment with lots of potential for career development.
