Our client, a sucessful construction and building services management business with contract values ranging from £5m to £38m and the prime focus is on residential and commercial new build properties, is looking for an experienced Commericial Management Accountant to join a growing finance team.

Job Description:

  • This role would suit a Part or Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ CIMA / ACCA) wanting more exposure to all elements of the finance function in construction.
  • The role will cover both management and financial accounting. There will be regular interaction with key stakeholders.
  • The desired candidate will sense of humour and enjoy working, proactively, as part of the finance team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Head of Finance with the preparation of accurate and timely financial management information.
  • Preparation of cost accruals & prepayments
  • Working alongside the Commercial Director with reporting and analysis of monthly project results.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, including investigating any anomalies.
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register.
  • Supervising the internal accounting team
  • Ad hoc analysis as required by Head of Finance
  • Assist with the preparation of the audit file of group entities.
  • Preparation of the monthly bank reconciliations
  • The right candidate for this role will be self-motivated and organised.
  • Experienced in management accounting, including planning, reporting and analysis on

  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Quick to learn and adaptable to changing work allocation and environment.
  • Prior experience of working in the construction, real estate or property sector is essential
