An exciting opportunity has arisen for a bright, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join a PE backed Real Estate company in London. This is a dynamic role that will see the successful candidate supporting the Senior Finance Manager in the daily operations and being responsible for the preparation of the management accounts for our UK property subsidiaries.

We are looking for a qualified/finalist accountant with prior property accounting experience that is self-motivated, enthausiatic and flexible. Employing a hands-on approach, the candidate must be methodical with strong attention to detail that possess an ability to work in a multi-task, multi priority and high-volume environment.

What you’ll do

  • Opportunity to work on one of the largest last mile logistics portfolios in the UK Market
  • Be responsible for a multi company property portfolio within the UK jurisdiction
  • Company level NOI and balance sheet review and control
  • Make relevant accruals and pre-payments
  • Liaise with various external advisors including auditors and property managers to ensure consistency and timeliness of local accounting information
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts in line with the Group’s reporting timetables
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS or UK GAAP
  • Accurately report on property disposals and profit on sale
  • Preparation of acquisition entries
  • Preparation of upstream mechanics on UK distributions and responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of cash positions
  • Approval of invoices and ensuring accuracy of accounting treatment within the ledgers
  • Preparation and submission of UK VAT returns
  • Gain an understanding of the requirements of the asset managers and assist them in the commercial decision making process by providing accurate and relevant financial information
  • To assist in ad hoc projects as they arise

What you’ll bring

  • Fully qualified or part qualified (finalist)
  • Prior experience in property accounting
  • previous REIT experience desirable
  • Yardi experience desirable
  • Strong excel skills
  • Be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding in a variety of accounting matters
  • Well organised with great attention to detail
  • Be able to demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Will be dynamic, self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work on their own initiative
