Our client is a Global Christian Communications Organisation, based in London. (Hybrid)

They are looking to recruit a Management Accountant on a contract until July 2025 (to cover a maternity )

You will be part of the team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting function. To contribute to the successful operation of the Finance department by being responsible for the provision of high quality, timely, informative financial information and analysis to its business units and provide cover for other financial functions within the team.

KEY TASKS

  • Produce monthly draft management accounts with variances, principally but not exclusively by the eighth working day of the month. This includes both P&L, grant and balance sheet reconciliations on an accrual.
  • Calculation of accruals and prepayments. Posting into the accounts, reconciling and revising accrual and prepayment journals.
  • Check transactions for errors and variances to budget
  • Prepare management accounts, including the consolidated balance sheet, intercompany charges, and one subsidiary’s accounts after review with FD
  • Prepare the management accounts for some departments and cost centres ensuring the accurate coding of income & expenditure and input into the management accounts. Assist in explaining and validating financial reports for project and department budget holders and other users.
  • Post online income from data imports for external systems
  • Input budget data and liaise with budget holders with FD
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and process monthly depreciation.
  • Assist with Credit card reconciliation and posting
  • Providing cover for various monthly processes such as payroll, VAT, reconciliations etc.
  • Support the Head of Finance in any other finance related worked as required.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts each month
  • Support bank reconciliations as required
  • Validate and check supplier payments

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • CCAB qualified accountant. Part qualified with experience considered.
  • Excellent management accounting skills with proven experience and strong knowledge of accounting and double entry.
  • Proven experience of management accounts and reporting.
  • Sound understanding of double entry and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel skills. Confident in importing external data.
  • Experience of importing & reconciliation to external databases.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly.
