The Management Accountant position is a pivotal role within the Accounting & Finance department, primarily responsible for preparing, developing, and analysing key financial information to ensure that an organisation's management makes well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth, and profitability.

Client Details

Our client, based in Central London, is a highly respected higher education institution with a growing finance team of 10 people.

Description

* Own and deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts for the organisation

* Review existing management information to find efficiencies and improvement

* Support budget holders to understand major variances to plan and prior years, investigating and evaluating significant financial variances

* Prepare month end journals, prepayments, accruals, and bank reconciliation functions.

* Preparation of monthly Balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly Vat returns

* Maintain and updating fixed assets registers

* Maintain an overview and support the management of restricted funds within Crisis

* Manage and maintain a restricted funds tracker, identifying gaps for further prospective funding as well as ensuring it is kept up to date

* Carry out a monthly reconciliation of restricted funds, liaising with both the Income Manager and relevant Business Partner ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date.

Profile

The successful candidate should have:

Must be Immediately Available

1 Previous experience of management accounting and financial control work

2 ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent CCAB recognised accounting qualification, or working towards such a qualification, or can demonstrate their qualities by their experience

3 Ability to understand and interpret internal and external customer requirements

4 Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex messages to individuals and groups at all levels

5 Knowledge of Finance Management concepts and approaches
