Description

The key responsibilities of this Management Accountant role will be:

  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts (including P&L, Balance Sheet and cashflow for the organisation including a P&L by area.
  • Complete monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare relevant accruals and prepayments including relevant journals
  • Perform budgeting, forecasting, and risk analysis duties as allocated.
  • Liaise with the finance team to ensure financial transparency.
  • Conduct financial analysis as required and present findings
  • Comply with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Support in the preparation of the management accounts and financial data for reporting to Board and Committees.
  • Support the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts for each department and the Authority as a whole.
  • Assist the year end audit and production of the Annual Reports and Accounts.
  • Manage the reconciliation of the redevelopment project and grant reporting requirements
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate monthly depreciation charges
  • Providing support on ad hoc requirements as part of the overall finance function

Profile

The successful Management Accountant should have:

  • At least three years' experience in a similar accountancy role
  • Part-qualified professional certification such as ACCA/CIMA or similar will be considered a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
  • Strong ethics, with a customer-oriented attitude.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to make financial concepts clear to colleagues.
