Hybrid: 2 days in office, 1 day WFH

Are you a qualified accountant looking for a part-time opportunity in the legal industry? Our client, a leading UK and European firm of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys, is seeking a Management Accountant to join their team in London. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and individual initiative, our client offers a supportive and friendly partnership culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for project work with a financial aspect, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Manage and participate in system upgrade testing.
  • Assist in the management and development of custom reporting and processing systems.
  • Prepare management and budgetary information, including commentary, to required deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual accounts and analysis of general ledger accounts.
  • Contribute to general reconciliation work and provide additional reporting services as required.
  • Liaise with the Technology team in the progression of reporting and systems project-related works.
  • Respond to specific queries from stakeholders regarding financial information.

Other Duties:

  • Keep the Financial Controller informed of work status and suggest ways to resolve any encountered problems.
  • Offer suggestions for improving the firm's finance services.
  • Assist in the annual audit process and administration and compliance aspects of employee taxation.
  • Provide training on accounting or systems-related matters to team members or other staff.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant, with an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
  • Strong experience in systems work, particularly systems upgrade testing and development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, organised, and able to manage a varied workload.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel, and enthusiasm for problem-solving.
  • Professional outlook.
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally under tight deadlines.
