Management Accountant – £40k DOE– London / Hybrid-working

The Role

Cult Furniture is seeking a Management Accountant to oversee key financial operations, ensuring seamless payment processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the company while driving process improvements within the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounting

  • Post prepayments and accruals to maintain the accuracy of P&Ls.
  • Conduct an initial review of P&L reports.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring depreciation entries are accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure salary journals are correctly posted and balance sheet control accounts are maintained.
  • Assist the Head of Finance in the smooth completion of audits.
  • Perform ad hoc Excel-based financial analysis as required.
  • Monitor cash flow and report on daily cash movements.

Operational

  • Oversee Sales Ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Collaborate with HR and external accountants to ensure accurate salary payments and compliance with HMRC obligations.
  • Communicate with suppliers, prepare, and process supplier payments.
  • Assist in managing shipping finance and foreign currency purchases/commitments.

Team Management

  • Serve as the first point of contact for queries from AP & AR assistants.
  • Ensure finance assistants maintain up-to-date and accurate payable ledger reconciliations.
  • Guide the team on chargebacks and dispute resolutions.
  • Oversee the finance inbox, ensuring all queries are addressed efficiently.

The Person

  • Part-Qualified or AAT-qualified (QBE candidates will be considered).
  • Proven experience in a similar finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of month-end accounting processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with Sage 200 and Xero is advantageous.
