Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing company who specialise in providing engineering and construction services are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team.

The company is involved within high-profile projects across Europe, and they require a Management Accountant to play a key role within the finance team in offering strategic financial insights and managing budgets effectively.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reports for senior management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, implement, and monitor budgets and forecasts; provide variance analysis and explanations.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analyses, margin analysis, and profitability analysis to support business decisions.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyse financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that enable management to determine progress against budgets.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards; prepare for audits and manage audit processes.
  • Advisory: Advise management on the financial implications of business activities and provide strategic recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
  • Project Management: Manage and oversee financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand and analyse their financial needs and challenges.
  • Labour Cost Management: Monitor and analyse labour costs, including direct and indirect expenses, and ensure alignment with project budgets.
  • System Proficiency: Utilise advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Newly Qualified, Finalist or PQ Level Accountant either ACA, ACCA or CIMA and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in management accounting or a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced Excel skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
    • Self-motivated and able to work under minimum supervision.
    • Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a start-up environment.
    • Knowledge of UK employment compliance, income tax, and payroll processing is an advantage.
