Management Accountant (Part Time 3 Days) - TV/Radio Production - 12 Months FTC

Multi-award-winning independent media company and a registered charity are looking for a Part Time (3 days a week) Management Accountant to play a pivotal role in the businesses financial control and reporting processes.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller and liaising closely with the production teams and outsourced accounting services partner, this new role will be responsible for assisting the FC in preparing the monthly Management pack, quarterly Board packs and the annual statutory accounts with a specific emphasis on variance analysis and forecasting.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the monthly accounts including detailed variance analysis, exception reporting and KPIs based on the reports provided by the outsourced accounting team
  • Calculation and posting of monthly income journal in line with revenue recognition policies including maintaining the production portfolio report
  • Posting accrual and prepayment journals for overhead costs
  • Rolling forecast preparation for both P&L and Cashflow
  • Review of Balance Sheet control account reconciliations
  • Assisting in the annual budget setting process, setting up the budget template and providing a robust forecast for the current year.
  • Royalty Accounting - Recording royalty income, ensuring statements are received and invoiced on time. Paying residuals to artists.
  • Managing Income including raising sales invoices in line with production milestones and credit control
  • Working closely with production teams to ensure that Cost Monitors are fully reconciled to Xero
  • Managing month end cut off and closing the period in xero
  • Provide cover for the FC in their absence
  • Ad-hoc analysis and reports as required

Profile:

  • Part-qualified accountant with a background in the media sector, ideally television production.
  • Experience of producing Management Accounts and Consolidated Statutory Accounts.
  • This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment, so willingness to work at a transactional level is essential.
  • Experience of using Xero
  • Some knowledge of accounting in the Charity sector
