Role Summary

The role is responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely reporting of the monthly, weekly, and annual results primarily focused on the Tenanted and Managed division of Fuller Smith and Turner. This role reports into the Group Finance Manager who has overall responsibility for the reporting of the weekly and monthly P&Ls as well as the balance sheet.

This role will be key in the production of month end management accounts, which will include preparing month end journal, accrual and prepayment entries alongside preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations. The role will also be expected to assist with the various weekly and monthly reporting of tenanted and managed division results to the wider business.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities

General

Assist the Group Finance Manager in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts for the Group.Production of accurate and timely monthly and weekly results predominantly within the tenanted division for review by the Group Finance Manager.Responsible for the reporting and review of Fixed asset, CAPEX and property costs across the Managed and Tenanted division. Work closely with the estates team to improve delivery of financial informational and drive operational efficiency and controls. To input into the FP&A team in the preparation of accurate and timely budgets and forecastsTo produce relevant ad hoc financial information to assist Operational and Site staff with the improvement of site profitability, as requested.

Preparation of Monthly Management Information

Responsible for preparation of accurate and timely weekly reporting for the Tenanted division, which will include but is not restricted to volumes, sales and gross profit margins. You will be expected to provide initial commentary on movements between prior years and budget for the Management accountant to review.As part of the management accounting team, you will be responsible for the production of the Tenanted and Managed division numbers as part of the Monthly Management Accounts process. Specific duties will include, but is not restricted to, posting accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, recharges, rebates and other specific monthly journal entries.Responsible for Fixed asset and property costs reporting and review across the Group - responsibilities included Fixed asset postings and maintenance of register, review of overall repairs and property costs as well provision of timely and clear financial information to improve operational performance.Provide timely and accurate information to Group Finance Manager upon their review of the Managed and Tenanted monthly figures.Prepare individual site profitability figures in order to be able to knowledgeably provide timely information to Operations Managers and the FP&A team.

Preparation of interim and year end schedules in advance of the external auditor's review and preparation of information required by senior management for external and internal year end and half year end presentations.Main point of contact with Business development managers in the Tenanted division, providing ad hoc financial insight and information as necessary.In collaboration with Estates team, review current use of 'Access Maintain'(Property and Repair system) with overall aim of improving long term use of reporting tool and function.Preparation and completion of various external reporting requirements (e.g., Office for National statistic questionnaires, Finance Reporting Council questionnaires).

Financial Management and Controls

Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations on all the major balance sheet accounts.Collaborate with Accounts payable team to ensure that Bulk Invoices are posted in correctly and the deferrals across relevant periods are appropriateProvide feedback to Group Finance manager of controls and processes and any improvements recommended.Key Srengths and Skills

Computer literacy and strong user of Microsoft excel/word - comfortable and efficient in dealing with large data sets on excel desirable.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Can demonstrate a professional approach and is able to establish close working relationships with finance and non-finance staff.An individual who possesses initiative, is analytical in nature and not afraid to ask questions.Hands-on and proactive with a positive "can do approach".An individual who is well organised and able to work to tight deadlinesClose attention to detail to ensure that accurate and thorough work is produced in a timely mannerDisciplined approach to work including the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Ability to adapt to change positiviely.

Required Experience, Training and Qualifications:

Previous experience in a finance department environment, preferably in Hospitality industry (but not required).Studying towards accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA), at already part qualified.Educated to degree level or equivalent, with strong technical skills in Accounting or FinanceKnowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central prefered but not required
