Prestigious law firm in central London are recruiting a part time (3 days a week hybrid) Management and Systems Accountant to join the dynamic and supportive finance department on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) to join a financially stable, expanding and established law firm with offices in London and Europe.

The key responsibilities of the job are to assist the Finance Director in the delivery of compliance work, operational services and management and financial reporting for the firm. Additionally providing a strong focus on supporting financial systems and systems accounting works.

Ideally you will be very IT savvy, demonstrating advanced Microsoft Excel skills, coupled with an enthusiasm for problem solving and keen eye for detail. Knowledge of reporting tools, databases, SQL and VBA would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities of the Management and Systems Accountant:

Project Services

  • Providing support for project work of a financial nature or having a financial aspect, in support of the firm's business in Europe or elsewhere.
  • To manage and engage in system upgrade testing works.
  • To assist in the management and development of the firms custom reporting and processing systems, alongside their technology team.

Financial and Management Reporting Services:

  • To provide support in the preparation of management and budgetary information, including commentary, to required deadlines.
  • To provide support in the analysis of general ledger accounts for taxation purposes and to support internal review and handling of queries.
  • To provide support for general reconciliation work.
  • To provide additional reporting services.
  • To provide support in the preparation of the annual accounts.
  • To act as one of the team’s liaison’s with the technology team in the progression of reporting and systems project related works.
  • Assisting the Financial Controller on all matters relating to the annual audit process.

Skills and experience of the Management and Systems Accountant:

  • Qualified accountant, with an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
  • Strength of experience in systems work, particularly systems upgrade testing and development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, coupled with the ability to create and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the firm.
  • Highly self-motivated, organised and able to manage a varied and challenging workload.
  • Able to work in a calm and professional manner whilst carrying out multiple projects under tight deadlines.
