Part-Time Financial Controller (3-4 days per week) | SME Fashion Retailer | £70,000-£80,000 + benefits | Central London (hybrid working)

JasperRose is exclusively partnering with an SME fashion retail brand that is looking to hire a Financial Controller on a part-time basis (3-4 days per week), based in their London Head Office. The business was founded in 2019 and operates a wholesale and e-commerce model. You will be joining to lead the finance function at a key time in their growth journey as they look to grow their revenues by 400% over the next 3 years.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the financial operations and support strategic decision-making. The role has extensive interaction with both internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for bringing the accounts in-house.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the budgeting and forecasting cycles, partnering with departmental heads to review these
  • Partnering with the Managing Director in the delivery of the 5-year strategic plans
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts and supporting analysis
  • Own the preparation of the financial statements
  • Responsibility for the VAT returns
  • Implement robust financial controls within the business
  • As the business grows, recruit and develop a finance team

Skill set required:

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience working in the fashion retail industry. You will have a strong commercial finance background as well as the ability to own the financial controls, ideally, you will have done this in an SME environment. Knowledge of Xero is desirable but not essential. You will thrive at working in an autonomous yet strategic role where you will have the opportunity to shape finance and support the future growth of the business.
