About the Role:Hackney Council is seeking a Pensions Project Accountant to support the pension fund accounts closure and reconciliations process. This is a temporary role to assist with a peak in workload, and the successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of pension fund management activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the closure of pension fund accounts and perform reconciliation tasks.
- Support with reconciling local government pension scheme (LGPS) fund manager/custodian records.
- Handle pension fund sales/purchases/cash reconciliation.
- Manage the reconciliation of LGPS lump sums, pensions paid, transfers in and out.
- Conduct pension fund bank account reconciliations.
- Previous experience working within a local government setting.
- Hands-on experience working with pensions, particularly in a local government pension scheme (LGPS).
- Proficiency with pension fund account closures and related reconciliations.
- Experience using the Cedare5 financial system (desirable but not essential).
- Must have previous experience working within a council or local government environment.
- Experience in working with pensions and handling pension fund reconciliation tasks.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
