Reed have teamed up with a local business who are seeking a Temporary Accountant to assist with their integration of a newly acquired small company into their existing financial framework. This role is crucial for rebuilding an accurate financial history for the past two years and preparing for an upcoming audit. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in transitioning the company from QuickBooks to Xero and establishing robust financial processes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Transition the newly acquired company from QuickBooks to Xero, ensuring all transactions are moved accurately to recreate a month-by-month financial position.
  • Support the finance team of the acquired company during the transition to Xero, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Map and align the trial balance of the newly acquired company with the group companies for consistent reporting.
  • Review and adjust monthly P&L statements for the last two years to align with the financial statements.
  • Establish a monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, potentially extending support to the wider group.
  • Assist in the implementation of a delegated authority matrix.
  • Support the CFO in the preparation of completion accounts and potentially assist in chasing aged debtors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified accountant with experience at either accountant or finance manager level.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and manage similar projects.
  • Experience with financial software transitions, preferably from QuickBooks to Xero.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a capability to dive deep into financial details.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear updates to the CFO.
  • Adaptable and able to understand and integrate into small business operations effectively.
