PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

Vision

This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is interested in getting involved in developing and running all finance related elements of the business, with further opportunities to specialise in key areas as the company, and finance team, grows organically and through acquisitions.

It will involve taking responsibility for supporting the CFO and Commercial Finance Director in both growing the company and ensuring the day to day running of the business finances works efficiently.

It is a broad and multi-faceted role where no two days will be the same and the success and progression of the role will be in your hands.  This is an exciting time to join a company with huge ambition to succeed and needs the successful candidate to be as ambitious. An interest in stadium-based sport is advantageous.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, identify variances, and investigate and explain cost overruns.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports, including project cost reports, burn rate reports, and profitability reports .
  • Assist with the development and implementation of project budgets.
  • Liaise with project managers and other stakeholders to provide financial updates and answer questions.
  • Process vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and employee timesheets in accordance with project budgets and contracts.
  • Manage project contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Assist with FP&A activity - creating and providing appropriate key business information to help better position the business to meet its ambitious growth and transformation targets
  • Assist with the roll out of the new accounting system
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of the weekly and monthly cash forecast.
  • Maintain a strong financial controls environment;
  Key Skill and Experience Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree & qualified accountant, ideally practice background (ACA, ACCA)
  • Superior mathematical skills
  • Self-driven with a “can do” attitude
  • A proactive approach requiring minimal direction
  • Enthusiastic, with the ability to work autonomously and be part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced MS Office and experience of Cloud based accounting/other financial systems  
  • Advanced business modelling skills (advance excel - given your ownership of the Group’s Excel-based budget and forecasting tools)
