What can you expect?

  • Carry out all basic accounting procedures to ensure that financial information is accurate and available on a timely basis.
  • Interact with all stakeholders outside of the department in a professional manner.
  • Advise Property Directors on any accounting issues associated with annual service charge budgets and to assist as required in the production, distribution and processing of budgets
  • Update and change any Service charge or Ground rent amounts relating to Property transfers and sales.
  • Prepare monthly ground rent returns for submission to Freehold clients.
  • Draft monthly service charge income and expenditure reports for the Senior Property Accountant.
  • Draft the monthly variance analysis reports.
  • Process journals reallocating expenditure as necessary.
  • Oversee the completion of bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Support the work of the purchase ledger team through payment runs.
  • Monitor development scheme cash flow and forecasting at least 12 months ahead.

What skills/experience will you bring?

  • You are a part qualified ACA, ACCA, AAT and actively working towards a professional qualification.
  • You have at least 3 years within a Property Accounting role.
  • You have an interest in the property management.
  • You have good knowledge of and experience with Service Charge.
  • You have strong communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with all colleagues.
  • You are competent with accounting software packages (Knowledge of property management software is advantageous).
  • You have good Excel skills.
