Property AccountantLocation - City/Docklands50k -£55kBonusPension4 days in the office - 1 day homeThe role: This role would suit someone from a managing agent background or client side who has strong service charge accounting experience across a commercial or a large mixed use portfolio. The role is ensuring the smooth running of all financial aspects and in particular the service charge process for the portfolio.Duties:

  • Assist with the maintenance of complex service charge estate, including NIA & density calculations.
  • Preparation of service charge budgets and calculation of service charges for tenants.
  • Raising quarterly service charges in a timely manner, including landlord void billing.
  • Reviewing service charge expenditure and investigating variances against budget, request forecasting adjustments if required, including presenting service charge reports at monthly budget meetings.
  • Preparation of the year end service charge accounts and reconciliation, including liaising with service charge auditors.
  • Ensure timely delivery of monthly reports Directors and external clients and resolution of queries.
  • Review and reconciliation of tenant and landlord direct recoveries.
  • Liaise with Management Accounts/Financial Accounts on group reporting, financial statements and external audits.
  • Quarterly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and assisting the Financial Controller in presenting financial results to Group Finance on a quarterly basis.

Requirements:

  • Strong service charge year end reconciliation experience - c5 years plus
  • Experience of balance sheet and trial balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong communication skills - both verbally and written
