Part-Time School Finance Officer (Immediate Start) - Mainstream Secondary School, Greenwich

We are seeking an experienced School Finance Officer to join our vibrant secondary school in Greenwich, starting immediately. This is a part-time, long-term role, lasting until the end of the academic year.

Hours:

  • 12:00pm to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Pay:

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day financial operations of the school, including purchase orders, invoicing, and processing payments
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring they comply with relevant regulations
  • Assisting in budget monitoring and forecasting, and providing financial reports for senior leadership
  • Supporting the management of payroll and handling staff expense claims
  • Handling the collection and reconciliation of student fees
  • Managing school financial software (FMS) to ensure data integrity and timely processing of transactions
  • Liaising with external suppliers, service providers, and parents as necessary
  • Assisting with audits and end-of-year financial reporting

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in school finance or a similar role within education
  • Proficiency in FMS (Financial Management System) is essential
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and processes within the education sector
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
