Reed are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of an expanding, highly ranked accountancy practice based in the City. We are seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join the expanding Business Services team. This role combines office-based and client-facing responsibilities, working in small teams under the guidance of a Senior and partner. The position offers a balance of year-end and management accounts preparation, along with draft tax computations, serving a diverse portfolio of clients.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Prepare accurate draft accounts with minimal outstanding queries and a well-presented accounts/audit file in a timely and methodical manner.
  • Work on a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized privately owned limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Prepare accounts from a variety of client records, from basic prime books to computerised accounting packages.
  • Supervise and train junior staff when providing additional support to Accounts Senior.
  • Manage the production of draft accounts and the preparation of VAT returns and management accounts.
  • Handle general office-based duties and ad hoc specialist assignments as they arise.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Currently studying ACA or ACCA.
  • Experience and competency in full accounts production from basic prime books and records to computerised accounting packages.
  • Currently working in an accountancy practice.
  • Ability to multi-task and fully conversant with Quickbooks software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Good time management with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible attitude with the ability to prioritise workloads.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Pro-Audit, CCH, and Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel software.
