Are you an experienced Accountant seeking a new challenge in a dynamic and inclusive environment? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established firm based in London. They are seeking candidates with a strong background in accounting, fully qualified, who are ready to take the next step in their career.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of client accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and budgets. You will manage client relationships, offer expert technical advice, and handle complex accounting issues.

What you will be doing as an Accounts Senior in the Business Services team:

  • Preparation and finalisation of Financial Statements: Managing the full accounting process, from initial client records to finalisation meetings.
  • Accounts Compliance: Ensuring accounts are compiled in accordance with FRS105 and FRS102 standards.
  • VAT Compliance: Reviewing VAT returns and ensuring a strong understanding of VAT legislation.
  • Deadline Management: Proactively managing multiple client deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Budgeting: Maintaining accountability for budgets and ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Team Leadership: Delegating tasks effectively to junior staff, offering support, and reviewing their work to ensure it meets the required standards.

What you'll need to succeed

  • ACA, CA, ACCA, ICAS, or a similar internationally recognised accounting qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant UK work experience with a reputable accountancy practice.
  • A comprehensive understanding of current auditing standards, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and control deficiencies.
