Accountant (Projects & System Development)

My client is looking for a dedicated Accountant to support our financial management and reporting. This role is integral to the development and oversight of our medium-term financial plans, capital projects, and system improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project accounting and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support the financial management and reporting, including financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Lead on financial planning, management, and reporting of grant-funded projects.
  • Develop and review financial systems within the team to enhance efficiency and value for money.
  • Provide leadership and training to the Finance Team, contributing to quality improvement.
  • Manage the Business Development Unit’s financial planning and reporting.
  • Oversee system maintenance and lead on all system developments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Part Qualified accountant (ICAEW/ACA/ACMA/ACCA) with evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Proven project accounting experience and understanding of statutory frameworks.
  • Experience in financial system and process development.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables and charts), intermediate Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent financial management, administrative, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage change, establish priorities, and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex reports.
