Based in East London, my client is looking for a dedicated Accountant to support their financial management and reporting. This role is integral to the development and oversight of the medium-term financial plans, capital projects, and system improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project accounting and a commitment to continuous professional development.
Day-to-day of the role:- Support the financial management and reporting, including financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Lead on financial planning, management, and reporting of grant-funded projects.
- Develop and review financial systems within the team to enhance efficiency and value for money.
- Provide leadership and training to the Finance Team, contributing to quality improvement.
- Manage the Business Development Unit’s financial planning and reporting.
- Oversee system maintenance and lead on all system developments.
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACMA/ACCA) or equivalent with evidence of continuous professional development.
- Proven project accounting experience and understanding of statutory frameworks.
- Experience in financial system and process development.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables and charts), intermediate Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent financial management, administrative, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage change, establish priorities, and work to deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex reports.
