The RoleAs a Senior Property Accountant, you will take ownership of managing the financial operations of a diverse commercial real estate portfolio. This includes ensuring compliance with the RICS Code of Practice and applying your advanced understanding of commercial real estate principles to provide insightful financial reporting and support. You’ll collaborate closely with property managers, clients, and other stakeholders to maintain and enhance the financial performance of the assets under management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and variance analyses for a portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Ensure full compliance with the RICS Code of Practice and industry standards in all accounting practices.
  • Manage property-level income and expense tracking, including tenant billings, service charge reconciliations, and rent rolls.
  • Conduct cash flow forecasting and analysis to support client decision-making.
  • Liaise with property managers, landlords, and external auditors to resolve financial queries.
  • Oversee VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger management.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 5+ years of property accounting experience, with a focus on commercial real estate.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of the RICS Code of Practice, and proficiency in property management and accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate principles, including leases, service charges, and investment metrics.
