Senior Tax Accountant

Industry: Financial ServicesLondon - Hybrid£50,000 - £55,000

Job Purpose

Support the Tax team with UK tax reporting and compliance, while improving processes and reporting across tax accounting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse UK tax classifications in P&L expenses.
  • Prepare Payroll Settlement Agreement (PSA) calculations.
  • Complete UK tax computations and submit corporation tax returns.
  • Calculate current and deferred tax, including statutory disclosures.
  • Manage quarterly Group Payment Arrangement calculations and HMRC payments.
  • Perform effective tax rate variance analysis and prepare tax-related journals.
  • Support Solvency II tax calculations and ad hoc tax projects.
  • Assess and update reporting processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Business Unit contacts.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision preparation and reconciliations.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree with 3+ years in tax/accounting.
  • Near completion of an accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
