About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled IFRS 9 Technical Accounting Specialist to join my client's team. This role involves providing expert technical accounting advice and guidance, developing technical papers, and ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Accounting Advice: Provide IFRS 9 technical accounting advice and develop technical papers as needed.
- Excel Modelling: Build and develop Excel spreadsheets for accounting and modelling calculations to identify data gaps, validate system outputs, and meet Programme requirements.
- Transition Support: Assist in the execution of transition plans, including opening balances and comparative financial statements.
- Audit Engagement: Support audit engagement requirements and respond to queries.
- IT Solutions Implementation: Aid in implementing FRC-related IT solutions, including the General Ledger, IFRS 9 Calculation Engine, and Sub-Ledgers, ensuring end-to-end reporting processes and controls.
- Testing Support: Assist the Finance Function in testing activities, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Accounting Rules Development: Support the development and implementation of Accounting Rules, Chart of Accounts, ledger posting, and IFRS 9 disclosures.
- Data Analysis: Analyse data inputs/outputs from the Calculation Engine and General Ledger, ensuring outputs meet reporting requirements, investigating issues, and recommending changes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including the FRC Delivery Partner, Auditors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Reporting Solutions: Ensure reporting solutions across the Finance function are fit for purpose in the rollout of IFRS 9.
- Training Support: Present or support presenters on financial reporting matters at training events.
- Control Environment: Maintain a robust control environment in line with good practice and risk frameworks.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative, logistical, and other support to the FRC Programme.
