Top 10 Accountancy Practice are seeking an ambitious individual with excellent VAT knowledge to join the growing VAT team, with promotion opportunities available.

Overview of Firm:

A leading accountancy brand and audit practice, part of a global network with a presence in 150 countries. They provide audit, accountancy, tax, and advisory services, specializing in complex clients in fast-moving sectors like insurance, global capital markets, and not-for-profit.

Introduction to the Division:

The tax service line covers Corporate Tax, Human Capital, Indirect Tax, Private Clients, and Tax Disputes, with specialisms in insurance, property, technology, international businesses, high net worth individuals, and globally mobile individuals.

Client Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with HMRC to ensure correct VAT obligations.
  • Provide clear, well-researched advice.
  • Resolve VAT treatment differences with HMRC and clients.
  • Participate in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
  • Manage a diverse client portfolio and generate new projects.

Work Assignments:

  • Support tender proposals and VAT marketing initiatives.
  • Conduct due diligence and provide VAT input for insolvency/restructuring.
  • Train staff/clients on VAT matters.
  • Investigate and resolve VAT queries.
  • Review VAT registration applications and returns.

People Management:

  • Manage junior staff and encourage their development.
  • Participate in internal and external training courses.

  • Proven VAT advisory/compliance skills.
