Group Finance Assistant

  • Location: Central London
  • Job Type: Permanent; Full-time
  • Salary: £30k -£35k per annum
  • Working Pattern: 5 days in the office (08:00-17:00)

We have partnered with a construction firm that is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Purchase ledger operation on Sage 200, including posting purchase invoices and monthly statement reconciliation.
  • Liaise with suppliers and handle any account queries.
  • Manage the sales ledger on Sage 200 for Group Companies, including invoice preparation and credit control.
  • Handle bank operations on Sage 200 for Group Companies, including daily bank reconciliations and accessing online banking.
  • Process payroll on Sage Line 50 Payroll, including commission and bonus payments, and changes in salary.
  • Provide payroll information to the HR department as required.
  • Manage document scanning systems and file finance paperwork for all Group Companies.
  • Assist in the monthly preparation of Year End Analysis Summaries for Auditors.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties such as filing, photocopying, and assisting the Group Finance Manager and Group Finance Executive as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating Sage 200 & Construct and Sage 50 Payroll Professional.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Finance Department.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Products including Excel and Word.
  • Strong data entry skills and attention to detail/accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with complaints professionally.
  • Ability to work independently and cope with pressure.
  • Financial experience in the Construction Industry is desirable.
