About the Role:As an Accounts Assistant, you will support the company’s financial processes by maintaining accurate records, managing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Collaborating closely with your colleagues, you will help maintain smooth financial operations while upholding high ethical and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform bank reconciliations to verify financial data accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Accounts Payable:
- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, coding, and payment processing.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and address payment queries promptly.
Accounts Receivable:
- Assist with accounts receivable functions, including invoice generation, client communications, and payment tracking.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and coordinate collections efforts.
Credit Control & Payment Processing:
- Set up and process instalment payment facilities where applicable.
- Chase overdue payments and ensure compliance with payment terms.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct peer quality checks on documentation and files to minimise errors and ensure accuracy.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement measures to enhance efficiency.
Other Duties:
- Undertake additional tasks as needed, in line with business requirements and as directed by the line manager.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
