They work with a UK and international client base across practice areas covering Antitrust, Aviation, Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Commercial Litigation. The firm is global in its perspective and is top ranked in both the Legal 500 and Chambers. They are recognized as one of the fastest growing legal practices in the UK.

They are now looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant. The main responsibilities of this role is to assist the Accounts department generally, including the cashiers and purchase ledger teams.

Responsibilities

  • Process disbursement invoices including receipt, posting and distribution
  • Daily payment runs of disbursements and invoices on instruction from fee earners, including international payments
  • Handle internal and external purchase ledger queries
  • Process courier/taxi/telephone/conference call invoices (and payments)
  • Client account to office account transfers
  • Holiday cover for cashiering and overhead purchase ledger when required
  • Time sheet administration
  • Archive administration
  • Investigating unreconciled cheques
  • Cover for the overhead purchase ledger and undertake ad hoc tasks delegated by the Financial Controller or Chief Financial Officer.

The Candidate

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and other relevant IT systems
  • High standard of numeracy, precise and accurate with attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a solicitors accounts office
  • Knowledge of Solicitors Account Rules
  • Good standard of education
