Partnering with this respected not-for-profit organisation, Robertson Bell are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Management Accountant, this role will help you utilise your existing accounting knowledge allowing you to reach your full potential and become an accomplished Management Accountant.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, with a focus on automating the allocation side of AR.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations for four accounts, including postings and monitoring allocated cash, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Enter financial data onto the CRM system and assist in transitioning to Access Financials.
  • Support the preparation of management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and assisting with the AR and AP processes.
  • Take ownership of financial management for a smaller entity within the organisation, ensuring all financial tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

Based in central London, this role allows you to work on a hybrid basis, allowing two days remote working following successful a probationary period. Person specification:

  • AAT or early-stage ACCA beneficial but not required.
  • Preferably from the not-for-profit sector; strong background in bank reconciliations and some balance sheet items.
  • Solid experience in a finance team, particularly in Accounts Receivable and allocations, though rounded AP and finance officer experience is also welcome.
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Willing to engage actively with the finance team and the wider business; suitable for up-and-coming professionals.
