Assistant Accountant

A great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to work with a portfolio of clients and as 2nd in command to the Manager. Your duties will include preparation of annual accounts, tax production and submission including communication with HMRC and Companies House on behalf of clients.

Key Responsibilities as Assistant Accountant:

  • Preparation of sole trade, Partnership and Rental accounts.
  • Preparation of LTD Company accounts and corporation tax returns.
  • Preparation and submission of personal tax computations and returns.
  • Completing relevant registrations with HMRC.
  • Conduct bookkeeping and payroll tasks.
  • Communicating and liaising between clients/visitors/enquirers.
  • Establish and maintain a professional and friendly working relationship with clients, professional contacts, and team members.
  • Record, manage, organise, and update relevant data using software applications.
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Other duties to support management and other team members as requiredconsistent with the role as directed.

Key Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in an accountancy practice working in a similar role.
  • Part/Full ACCA / ACA / AAT qualified, or similar or qualified by experience (5+ years).
  • Demonstrable experience and skills with accounting software QBPM, Excel, Sage, and others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisation and time management abilities.
