Our client is a Private Equity backed multi-sector Energy business who are entering into an ambitious growth period. As such, they are looking to appoint a Junior Accountant to manage their construction and delivery part of the business.

They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Accountant, who will be responsible for key accounts reconciliations and accurate monthly financial transactions. This is a pivotal role within the finance team. The successful candidate will oversee and challenge our assets/projects under construction, working closely with project and leadership teams.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Accruals of monthly PSA cost and completion of annual PSA return
  • Recording of fixed asset additions, disposals, depreciation including the reconciliation to the subledgers and their periodic close.
  • Recording of leased asset additions, disposals, depreciation including the reconciliation to the leased asset register
  • Reconciliation of primary balance sheet accounts - Fixed and Intangible Assets
  • Prepare and post recurring journals (Prepayments, intercompany transfers, framework invoice cost allocation)
  • Prepare monthly intercompany Reconciliations
  • Group Management Charge Posting and Allocation
  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated statutory accounts

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ideally working towards an appropriate professional qualification for the role ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Ideally 3 years experience working in a Finance department, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Dynamics or similar ERP systems is a plus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Adaptable, energetic and a continuous learner.
  • Strong organisational abilities.
