Job Opportunity: Senior Bookkeeper
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join one of our valued clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, working across a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a client portfolio of bookkeeping and VAT returns, covering both sole trade and incorporated entities.
- Utilising various bookkeeping software, primarily Xero, to maintain client accounts.
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Reviewing the work of junior or outsourced staff to maintain quality and accuracy.
- Responding to client queries and providing professional support.
- Ensuring trial balances are complete and ready for handover to the accounts department.
- Managing VAT registrations and deregistrations.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years' experience working in a practice.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
- In-depth knowledge of VAT, including dealing with HMRC, VAT schemes, and experience with VAT planning.
