Arthur is delighted to be supporting a speciality (Re)insurer at Lloyds who are seeking Capital Modelling Actaury. The role reports into the head of the team and offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and help shape the capital modelling function within a fast-growing organisation.You will support the maintenance and development of the internal capital model, ensuring it meets both regulatory requirements and the needs of the business. This role involves working closely with senior management to provide insights into capital requirements, model calibration, and strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update the internal capital model in line with Lloyd’s capital requirements and business needs.
  • Assist in model calibration by working closely with stakeholders across the business.
  • Improve processes to enhance efficiency in model inputs, operation, and reporting.
  • Update data and parameters, run the model, and review outputs for accuracy.
  • Support the continued development of the model to reflect the evolving risk profile of the business.
  • Address issues arising from model operation and modifications, including making necessary code changes.
  • Ensure full documentation of the internal model and meet Lloyd’s reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams to facilitate knowledge sharing and support the model validation process.
  • Contribute to capital model applications, including syndicate business forecasting, capital allocation, reinsurance optimisation, and investment strategy.
Candidate Profile
  • FIA qualified actuary (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong IT skills, with knowledge of Tyche preferred.
  • Experience in capital modelling, including knowledge of Lloyd’s and Solvency II requirements.
  • Understanding of general insurance, particularly property and specialty lines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage across team
