We seek a motivated and skilled Capital Modelling Actuary to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with various teams and regulators, and contribute to key strategic initiatives within the business.

The Role:

As part of the Capital Modelling team, you'll calculate, report, and embed solvency capital requirements across the group, support regulatory submissions to Lloyd's, and contribute to broader risk management and capital optimisation strategies. You'll work closely with multiple teams across the business to ensure accurate and timely delivery of regulatory requirements and enhance our modelling capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and monitor regulatory capital for our Lloyd's syndicate, ensuring timely submissions to Lloyd's and liaising with internal committees and regulators.
  • Develop and maintain capital models and analytics suites to reflect changes in risk profiles.
  • Lead and support both short-term and medium-term capital modelling projects.
  • Assist in the parameterisation of the Solvency Capital Requirement (SCR) for various risk types, working with Underwriting and Claims teams to analyse dependencies and loss parameters.
  • Collaborate across actuarial teams to broaden your knowledge and skills.
  • Support the development of junior team members.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of capital modelling techniques, with experience in ReMetrica or other modelling platforms.
  • A solid understanding of general insurance, with a proactive approach to learning and development.
  • IT proficiency, particularly in SQL, R, and the MS Office suite.
  • Recently qualified or making good progress through actuarial exams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply knowledge to new challenges and suggest practical solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines with high-quality work.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Well-organized, with a focus on producing clear documentation and audit trails.
