Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage actively in the tender process for new and existing opportunities, with a primary focus on UK and Irish Term Life and Critical Illness product lines.
  • Conduct comprehensive modelling and pricing for protection deals, from initial assessment to execution and transition to the in-force management team. This includes data preparation, mortality and morbidity analysis, demographic experience review, cash-flow projections and reconciliations, sensitivity analyses, and thorough checks.
  • Prepare technical documentation and provide essential support to the commercial deal lead, including drafting pricing reports, sign-off memos, client offer letters, and assisting with negotiations.
  • Drive research, development, and refinement of EMELA's pricing benchmarks, methodologies, and tools to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with In-force Management and Valuation teams to monitor and analyze the in-force portfolio.
  • Attend client meetings, contributing to the development and enhancement of client propositions.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Actuary with 5-10 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Significant experience in pricing within the (re)insurance sector, particularly within relevant product lines.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R) and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with a relevant modelling software (e.g., AXIS, Risk Agility, Prophet) is advantageous.
  • Solid knowledge of Life Insurance and Critical Illness product lines is beneficial.
